Artist Collections' Groupshow, curated by Manor Grunewald
Opening: Sunday 3 Feb. 2019
Neighbours volume 8? artist collections? shows a large and diverse selection of the personal collections of (inter)national artists. The collections that artists have acquired over time, originated from an exchange of works between fellow artists.
The goal of Neighbours volume 8? artist collections?, is to show the connections and the collective interests of the artists that participate, without laying the focus on commercial restrictions that mostly come up when the concept of an ?art collector? is discussed.
By placing the works on one monumental wall, the relations between the works and the connection between the artists form a dialogue with each other. It is important to make a link between young, upcoming artists and more acknowledged artists. By this, the reference to the Salons in Paris, that initiated from 1667 on, is made. These Salons were characterized by their visitors, who were a wide selection of all layers of the population at that time.
